My fascination with Islamic geometry was ignited when I read Keith Critchlow's book 'Islamic Patterns'.  This little book arose from that reading.  I intended it to be a sample book and a precursor of calligraphic work to follow.  I have since used the knowledge gained from making this little book in working through a few other calligraphic pieces.  Those of you who received my 'Dreidel Book' from the last bookswap will see how I am working with these designs at the moment.
